Hello to you all,
The Afternoon Tea Dance is almost upon us!! Come on out to Dayboro next Sunday the 18th of September at 2pm for a swish around the wonderful polished wooden dance floor of the Dayboro Community Hall right next door to the Police Station in Bradley Street.
However it must be said loudly and clearly that dancing is not compulsory … there will be plenty of seating for those who wish to watch the goings on from the sidelines with hoots of encouragement.
To my BrisVegas and further flung friends … Come early !! There are some very lovely places for lunch in Dayboro township … let me recommend Rendezvous Cafe and Bookshop and GrAte Life Cafe for wonderful coffee and scrumptious food. There are some very interesting and inspiring shops to investigate … Say Hi to Lyn and Fraser at Bohemian Decor, Noela at Entangled, Butterfly Lane and Lavender Blue to name but a few. And don’t forget to say Hi to John Chapman at the Art Gallery! Ask to see his gorgeous artwork!
I have been humbled by the enormous help I have received from local dancers coming out of the woodwork with loads of advice and CD’s educating me as to the many different styles of dance, repertoire and correct tempos. I am very heartened by the people from our community and who have called to tell me they miss the dances and live music of yesteryear in our ever growing Dayboro community. Come out loud in support of the Combined Churches and The Dayboro Lions who do such good works for our people in need.
Bring a plate of afternoon tea delights to share … I will have the kettle on but bring a bottle and your glasses if you would like a tipple or two.
I and my 4 very musical friends will be delighted to see you.
Love Wendy xo
