As the weather station (www.dayboroweather.com) is back in the air, thanks to a lot of online mates, I start fielding questions about weather again. I do not mind that to much, however, the weather station upkeep was stopped due to ill health and the continues flow of “abuse” and negativity by certain members of the community. That is all in the past, but the ill health is still there.
I used to be able to see patterns, trajectories and could easily “predict” outcomes of processes and events, based upon science and experience….. that “gift” is gone due to my brain is not playing nice anymore. But for the fun of it we going to give it a crack. That sort of sums up the self pity and disclaimer.
So lets give it a crack.
What would the weather be like in October……
No idea really, but if it was my guess.
Rain… well below average, also for November this will cause some issues for the spring crops. Some predict that we move an El Nina (wetter), personally I am a bit more cautious and stick on the dry side. I have mentioned a few yrs back…. buy bigger tanks and dig dams if you want to keep water throughout the year. I think that is the general “party line” at the moment.
Lets have a look at the current rain, for this year.
As you can see, and this is no surprise, we are tracking well be low average per month…. but on a year basis we not doing to bad, still well a 300mm short of a full years average but there is still a fair bit of year left….. (17 weeks till xmass :-)) That sums it up for the rain. http://dayboroweather.com/pages/station/climateR.php
Temperature etc, pretty much like normal around the 20-21 degrees celcius. I think the ocean temp will be colder than normal, currently around NSW it is hotter than normal (hence the storms there). Off Brisbane the ocean temp is actually a bit colder than normal… Just a relative small pocket of cold water really.
- I think it be a good month to build a house
- I think it be a good month to dig a dam
- I think it be a bad month for veggies
- I think it be a bad month for the mower fanatics.
As per usual, I am not a meteo guy, only have half a brain left and will not take responsibility for the decisions you make based upon this information. (For a starters it is not on FB so it cannot be true LOL).
